Share Your Story
Participating in a Voices of Princeton interview in conversation with a friend, loved one, colleague, or neighbor, is a wonderful way to share your stories with the community. One of you will serve as the interviewer who will ask the questions. The other will be the interviewee who will primarily answer the questions. As a pair, you will be matched with a trained facilitator for the interview.
We welcome stories and recollections of Princeton at all times. This fall and winter, we’re making a special request for community members to share stories on two different themes. You don’t need to decide whether you will address one of these themes when you first sign up for an interview.
Here are the steps to participate in an interview:
- Choose a friend, family member, or other confidant. Decide which one of you will be the interviewer and which will be the interviewee. No experience is required to sign up for an interview, just a willingness to share your stories.
Visit the Interview Signup page linked below to schedule an interview by selecting a preferred 90-minute time slot (remember: your time and date are not confirmed yet).
Within a few days of selecting a preferred date and time, you will receive a confirmation of your interview date and time.
Via email, you will receive a guide to help you prepare for the interview, as well as a link to a short survey to fill out before the interview.
Come to the interview at Princeton Public Library at your scheduled time. At that time you will meet the trained volunteer facilitator who will walk you through the interview process. The entire process will take between 60-90 minutes.
- Once the interview is complete and permission has been granted, the interview will be archived at the Historical Society of Princeton and will be available on this website.
If you want to learn more about the process before you sign up, take a look through our preparation guide:
