Biographical Statement

My mother and father moved from Trenton to Princeton in 1937 when they opened up the hardware store, Urken supply company at 27 Witherspoon St. They lived in an apartment above the store until 1954 when they bought a house where I grew up at the corner of Nassau and Harriet Drive right around the same time The Jewish Center was built across the street and my parents were founders of The Jewish Center, a number of other families.
